Copying Dropbox Files to Android Photo Collections:
There are Two Methods for this guide.
So, now to the meat of the article. Copying your dropbox files over to your android gallery is a very simple process. You actually have two options for how you want to do this.
The first way to do this is by using the Dropbox app, and the second method involves using a USB flash drive to move your files into your android photos.
Method One: Using the Dropbox App:
So, method one, using the Dropbox App. This is the most streamlined of the two methods but requires you to install an app on your phone and your desktop.
Let’s take a look.
Step I: Downloading Dropbox
The first thing that you’ll need to do is open up your Google Play store and download the app if you don’t already have it.
Once you’ve got the app downloaded, you’ll need to sign in using your Dropbox login. The next thing you need to check is whether or not you have Dropbox installed on your desktop. If you don’t, go ahead and do that next.
Step II: Copying to Dropbox
Once you’ve downloaded Dropbox onto your desktop, you’ll see a Dropbox folder in the sidebar of your explorer or finder if you’re on Mac. From here, you can go ahead and copy your photos folder on your desktop into the new Dropbox folder.
After you’ve done this, you can simply open up the Dropbox app on your phone, select photos, and you’ll be able to view all the photos that you have uploaded to Dropbox.
Step III: Downloading to Your Android
To download the photos, simply tap and hold on a photo until you see that all of the images have displayed a small tickbox in the top right. From there it’s simply a case of selecting the photos you want.
Once you’ve selected all the photos you require, you can press the ellipsis in the top right corner of the Dropbox app and select the ‘Save to Device’ option.
Once you’ve downloaded your photos, simply check your android photo gallery and you’ll see that the photos will have appeared. You’re all done!
Method 2: Using a Flash Drive:
You can use a more hardware-focused approach via flash drives. This is great for people looking to copy the photos directly from their camera using an SD card.
Step I: Enabling Camera Uploads:
- Head over to the Dropbox software that should be installed on your computer and head over to settings.
- There should be a button at the top of the screen that says ‘access and manage your Dropbox settings.’ Go ahead and press that.
- From here, you can click on preferences and then head over to the import tab.
- Next, click the change autoplay settings button,
- and under ‘removable drive,’ select the option ‘import photos and videos (dropbox).’
- Click the save button to make your settings permanent.
Step II: Uploading and Saving the Photos
Insert the flash drive or SD card that contains your photos into your computer. When you do this, Dropbox will open up a camera import screen. This is where you can drop your photos into Dropbox.
Once the photos have been imported, you can head over to your app and find the photos. From there, follow the same process as described above to get the photos into your android gallery.
Hold down on a photo until you see the tick box, select the photos you want, and then save them to your device. They’re all yours now.
